Programs at NLC are designed to provide students with the opportunity to obtain the necessary classroom education, and supplement that with appropriate practicum or hands-on opportunities to make the successful transition from student to employee. Students have a number of options, depending on their chosen career path. They can earn a certificate, diploma, or associate degree.

Founded in 1970, Douglas College is the largest degree-granting college in British Columbia, Canada, educating about 20,000 students per year. North Island College is a comprehensive community college that focuses on student success. The College of New Caledonia (CNC) has played an important role in training and educating residents in northern BC since 1969. Okanagan College is a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia with four main campuses in Kelowna, Penticton, Salmon Arm and Vernon.
